The perimeter of a square is thrice the perimeter of a rectangle. If the perimeter of the square is 84 cms and the length of the rectangle is 8cms, what is the difference between the breadth of the rectangle and the side of the square?
Answer : Option A
Explanation :
Side of a square = Perimeter/4
= 84/4 = 21cm
Perimeter of rectangle = 84/3 = 28cm
Bredth of rectangle = 28/2 - 8 = 6cm
∴ Required difference = 21 - 6 = 15cm
