    Let the original number of men = X

    X men do the work in 50 days.

    As per the question, X + 6 men can do the work in 40 days (50 -10).

    Apply formula: M1D1W2 = M2D2W1

    W1=W2

    Therefore, X * 50 = (X + 6) * 40

    50 X = 40X + 240

    10X = 240

    X = 240 = 24 men
