    (√3 - 1) (√3 + 1) (3 - 1) 2
    y = (√3 - 1) x (√3 - 1) = (√3 - 1)2 = 3 + 1 - 2√3 = 2 - √3.
    (√3 + 1) (√3 - 1) (3 - 1) 2

     x2 + y2 = (2 + √3)2 + (2 - √3)2

       = 2(4 + 3)

       = 14
