    Then,the person's present age =\(( \frac { 2 } {5 } X)\)years

     

    \(( \frac { 2 } {5 } X+8)\)=\(\frac { 1 } { 2 } \)(x+8)

     

     2(2x + 40) = 5(x + 8)

     

     x = 40
